Entry-level, seasonal day shift position capable of operating departmental equipment necessary in the production and/or packaging of quality pumpkin; and abiding by GMP and Safety rules. Specific duties and machinery required to operate will vary per department.
•Capable of meeting or exceeding designated efficiency and productivity rates.
•Ability to differentiate between the acceptable and unacceptable quality of raw, semi-finished, and finished materials.
•Ability to accurately fill out paperwork. For example, the employee must be able to document the start time of running the product and initial temperature.
•Ability to perform and rotate each of the positions on the assigned line.
•Ability to perform basic maintenance (greasing) of equipment as needed.
•Ability to troubleshoot equipment problems, make basic repairs, and document adjustments as needed.
•Ability to monitor and keep inventory levels.
•Ability to work 12 hour shifts, 6 days a week as well as weekends.
•Willing to assist other employees and departments as needed.
•Willing to cross-train on other production line equipment and positions.
•Employee shall follow all required GMP, quality and food safety requirements. In addition, employee shall notify their supervisor or other designated personnel of all quality or food safety findings or incidents.
•Employee shall follow Nestlé’s safety & environmental objectives & targets, follow the plant safety rules, report incidents & unsafe conditions immediately, maintain compliance with regulations, and refer to the Safety & Environmental Management System(s) on all related procedures and programs.
•Willing to work in a seasonal environment that will be a temporary assignment of about 2-4 months.
•Other duties as assigned.
•Two or more year’s prior experience operating production equipment is preferred.
•Strong understanding of equipment troubleshooting and repair.
•High school diploma or GED is desired.
•Ability to operate a forklift if needed.
•Willingness and ability to cross train in all production areas.
•Ability to work self-directed or in a team.
•Ability to lift 50lbs.
•Positive attitude with a strong attendance record.
•Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operation and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
•Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
•Ability to speak effectively one-on-one with other employees or before groups of employees.
•Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.
•Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written and oral form.
•Applicants must be at least 18 years of age.
•Must be willing to accept seasonal/temporary assignment.
•Able and willing to work 12 hour shifts, 6 days a week.
•Able to work weekends, holidays, and including the potential for nights.
•Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
•Possess basic computer knowledge.
