1. Troubleshoots plant power distribution system (both 4160 VAC and 480 VAC) and plant motor starters (both 4160 VAC and 480 VAC).
2. Maintains strong knowledge of NEC and local codes.
3. Troubleshoots motor control systems: e.g. AC fixed speed, AC variable frequency, and DC variable speed.
4. Maintains thorough knowledgeable of all plant operational systems in order to aid in troubleshooting. This to include all production equipment and systems, high rise crane system, all facility equipment, etc. Knowledge of areas other than electrical is required: e.g. mechanical, hydraulic, sequence of operations, etc.
5. Troubleshoots PLC systems. Makes minor software changes if directed. Maintains proficiency in use of industrial terminals and laptop computers.
6. Troubleshoots all aspects of process control loops, both electronic and pneumatic: e.g. temperature, pressure, vacuum, etc.
7. Uses the following test equipment: e.g. megger, DMM, oscilloscope, amprobe, transistor tester, etc. Conducts instrument calibration.
8. Maintains an understanding of engineering drawings. Documents and updates prints.
9. Works with digital and analog electronics, logic circuits, triac power controls, etc.
10. Maintains accurate, precise records where required. This to include equipment logs, communication logs, P.M. sheets, job orders, etc.
1. Two-year degree or equivalent in EA or ET with 2 years industrial electrical experience within the past 12 months.
2. Experience with Allen-Bradley PLC is preferred.
3. Must be able to read and interpret blue prints and schematics.
4. Must be able to use required electrical test equipment and hand tools.
5. Must understand the basic operation of electrical equipment.
6. Must troubleshoot and maintain electrical equipment.
7. Must have knowledge of basic computer programming, including PLC’s and operator (interface, windows, dos).
8. Must understand AC, DC and VFD’s motor control systems.
9. Basic knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatic and mechanical aptitude.
10. Must have knowledge of temperature controls.
11. Must have an attitude that is capable of working as a team with minimum supervision.
