Main Purpose of Job
CULTIVATE AND DRIVE THE ACTIVATION OF THE CUSTOMER CATEGORY STRATEGIC PLAN – a primary responsibility of this position is to lead the development of Strategic Category plans in
collaboration with the customer, internal insights and research resources. Includes, development of holistic category strategies
by leveraging the tools, insights, and analytics from internal and retailer-specific sources. Additionally, this position will know how to utilize
and leverage technology that will enable efficient modular processes and analysis.
Applies a strong advanced analytic and technical skillset to category analytics, assortment optimization modeling and merchandising to cultivate actionable insights and strategic category initiative recommendations to drive category growth.
Key Responsibilities:
•Initiate and cultivate advanced/predictive analytics and research based insights to generate actionable insights and strategic initiatives for the customer
•Own strategic planning for relay process and automated modular processes with technology resources
•Deliver flawless execution of shopper in-store experience through advisor led recommendations and responsibilities for relay process
Key Experiences
•Bachelor’s Degree preferred (Technical degree (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) a plus)
•A minimum of 12-18 months of experience in a category advisor role and track record of leveraging strong technical skillset
•Professional experience outside of Category Management for a broader perspective is a plus
•Additional qualifications unless technical (STEM) degree in lieu of experience:
•Strong technical skills in the area of database management and information technology
•Advanced MS Excel and PowerPoint skills
•Advanced analytics, problem solving and statistical modeling skills
•Analyst experience with Nielsen/IRI and syndicated data to help create sales stories
•Ability to “Develop Category Growth” stories that identify Category Opportunity Gaps
Technical Skills (unless technical (STEM) degree in lieu of these technologies):
•Excel, PowerPoint, exposure to Power BI or similar
•Shiloh, or other similar RL database type tool
•The following are skills that are a plus if the candidate possesses or has had exposure:
•Power BI Power Query or Alteryx
•CKB, POG Generator, JDA
•VBA, SQL or other coding languages
