Your primary responsibility in this role is to provide thought leadership and functional expertise for our Regulatory & Scientific Affairs (RSA) group. This position provides a high level of regulatory expertise, and is seen as an authority/manager back-up, with proven ability to handle challenging situations and problem solve. Your expertise as Senior Specialist will be used across Nestlé in the US.
•Lead the regulatory contribution on complex and/or novel Innovation/Renovation (I&R) projects.
•Manage timelines and responses, adjusting against priorities by utilizing expertise in research, advocacy and special projects.
•Strategically navigate and represent RSA on a broader level across multiple businesses and brands.
•Manage and impact end-to-end RSA processes with full scope of responsibility, including key stakeholder management.
•Provide insight, guidance and recommendations on position statements and responses.
•Coach, advise and provide guidance/direction to others within the group and cross-functional on standard methodologies and regulatory compliance.
•Provide key leadership support to the Regulatory Affairs Manager.
•Provide insight and consistent RSA approach across brands and businesses.
•Function as a flexible resource for within the function. This could include flexing/stretching across multiple businesses/brands, and special projects.
Requirements and minimum education level:
Bachelor’s Degree required, Masters preferred.
•Minimum 5 years of experience in the food industry preferred, primarily in regulatory affairs, quality, nutrition and/or product development; demonstrated ability may substitute years of preferred experience.
•Diverse food industry experiences, including integration of acquisitions, new business ventures, and technologies.
•Clear understanding and expert working knowledge USDA/FDA Regulations.
•Leadership in data management and familiarity with digital platforms, including but not limited to Devex, Smart Label, GS1.
•Anticipate and plan for dynamic changes and monitor industry and consumer trends within the regulatory environment.
•Ability to work in fast-paced environment with changing and competing priorities, supporting businesses that experience continuous evolution.
•Ability to influence with integrity and impact to drive/deliver results without formal authority.
•Effectively work across functions and multiple levels in the organization.
•Strong communication skills: oral and written, including interpersonal, presentation, with ability to adapt to audience.
•Curiosity to drive action in white space arena, incorporating new technology and novel approaches/proposals to capitalize on trends and future opportunities in the market.
