Position summary:
You will be responsible for all aspects related to the on shift maintenance of Electricity and Automation (E&A) according to factory, corporate and local strategies, standards, specifications and local codes and regulations. This will includes:
•Maintain optimum electrical and process control equipment facilities to meet the established objectives of the business
•Ensure reliability of electrical, process control and MES hardware and software operation
•Maintain electrical/process control hardware & software to maintain plant at high level of efficiency, safety, quality, etc.
•Nurture and grow relationships with other departments and facilities to provide support and maintenance for efficient factory operations
•Provide technical direction, training and capability building of Electrical and Control Technicians
Primary responsibilities:
•Maintain our existing electrical infrastructure and automation applications.
•Provide automation, MES and factory support on assigned shift, including development of E&C Technicians’ capabilities
•Ensure alignment of the process with the final customers in production
•Conduct preventive maintenance on power distribution, automation and MES
•Record all electrical power distribution and automation modifications and update the appropriate drawings as per factory specifications
•Ensure process instruments are accurately calibrated and functional
•Perform troubleshooting in case of problems and ensure the PLC, HMI and MES applications are accurately maintained
•Maintain industrial applications and hardware in the automation layer
• Implement PLC and HMI policy/procedures
•Maintain the reliability and the performance of the FAS IT infrastructure and peer to peer networks
•Collaborate with other functions, such as quality, safety, operations and production, with special emphasis on QMS, HAACP and calibration
•Actively participate in DOR/WOR/MOR, GSTD and DMAIC activities
•Develop themselves as an authority in their area of responsibility for a long-term support of the operation
Electrical & Power Distribution:
You will maintain the electrical power distribution from the utility company service entrance down through switchboards, transformers, distribution panels, etc. to all individual loads. This includes the following activities:
•Maintenance of the plant’s power distribution
•Knowledge of the plant electrical system from the utility company lines to transformers, switchboards, distribution panels, MCC, motors, lighting fixtures, etc.
•Record modifications (one line diagrams, MCC data sheets, electrical room’s layouts, grounding system, lighting plans, electrical equipment location plan, etc.)
•Understanding of the existing electrical system loading profile, grounding, protection, maintenance needs, safety, and reliability of the plant power system equipment
•Understanding the plant electrical criteria, standards, and guidelines
Automation & Process Control:
Maintain process control system. Some of the activities are the following:
•Understand the existing process control infrastructure, configuration, requirements, networks, level of automation, etc.
•Record modifications (configuration diagrams, P&IDs, process descriptions, etc.)
•Understand the plant controls & IT criteria, standards, and guidelines
Manufacturing Execution System (MES):
•Support and the existing and future activities related to MES, FAS and FFMW to ensure accurate operation as per design criteria
Capital Projects & Collaboration:
•You will participate in the implementation of the power distribution systems, motor control centers, control panels, human machine interfaces (HMI), instrumentation, system integration, and commissioning and start up activities lead by the E&A Engineer
•Add content to the URS (user requirement specifications) and FDS (functional design specifications)
•Participate in Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT)
•Participate in Commissioning, Qualification, Validation (CQV)
•Aid in the project close out, including Project Defect Analysis (PDA)
•Collaborate cross functionally to provide necessary support and expertise as requested
•Provide technical support to maintenance, production, safety, quality, etc.

• Associate’s Degree in engineering/technology or equivalent, preferably electrical and/or automation engineering/technology. Relevant work experience in lieu of a degree may be considered.
Required experience:
•2-3 years’ experience
•Experience with manufacturing facility electricity including low voltage and medium voltage installations
•Electrical safety stewardship and compliance
•Knowledge of instrumentation and process control systems
•In-depth knowledge of HMIs and PLCs
Preferred experience:
•Experience in the field of electricity and/or automation in a manufacturing facility
•Good knowledge of local electrical code and standards
•Knowledge on MES (manufacturing execution systems)
•Knowledge on manufacturing IT, industrial networks and applications
•Knowledge of food safety, regulatory requirements for food safety, hygienic engineering and Nestlé Quality System
