Run the engineering/maintenance activities relating to the factory such that employee health and safety, product safety and the protection of the environment are never compromised and that all engineering/maintenance activities improve product quality, plant performance and the business objectives. Manager will be responsible for the development and implementation of our strategic vision in areas of manufacturing reliability. This role is a key member of the management team.
•Define, propose and monitor the implementation of the Factory Engineering teams plans and objectives in accordance with Nestlé practices.
•Propose and implement work processes, procedures and technical resources related to Factory Engineering/Maintenance.
•Lead and coordinate the Factory Engineering/Maintenance team and maintain competencies, motivation and performance to achieve the teams mission and objectives.
•Propose and control the budget as well as the factory’s capital investment plans and related capital expenditures.
•Planning and running all approved capital projects
•Monitor our capital investments. Ensure the justification, request for approval and reporting are in line with the Guidelines for Capital Investment.
•Ensure that projects are designed with a high degree of flexibility to better enable the operations to adjust to a changing environment keeping in mind safety and the environment.
•Execute M&I in accordance with the Nestlé Maintenance Strategy using Consequence Driven Maintenance (CDM) as the multi-disciplined approach to actively maintain/improve the fixed assets and Asset and Maintenance Management (AMM) as the process to manage the asset lifecycle.
•Adopt the Maintenance Excellence vision by striving for the M&I “Proactive Domain”.
•Ensure the team view M&I as an investment in asset reliability and overall plant performance.
•Ensure that there exists within the engineering team an attitude of absolute intolerance for unsafe situations. That all those in engineering are encouraged never to implement any change, whether directly instructed to, or under his/her own initiative, without first questioning its impact in relation to product safety/quality, people safety and the environment. No compromises should be tolerated.
•Liaise daily with Production and Quality Assurance to resolve technical issues and to ensure efficient operation.
•Ensure that all the team members are familiar with, and implement Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
•Ensure environmental compliance with Nestlé Environmental management System
•Ensure compliance with Nestlé Operational Safety, Health and Risk Management Strategy
•Ensure execution of maintenance is in accordance with the Nestlé Maintenance Strategy by using the Consequence Driven Maintenance philosophy.
•Ensure implementation of Asset Maintenance Management as Factory Maintenance Systems including Technical Stores Management; Work Order Management and Labor Hour allocation; and Equipment Bill of Material (BOM)
•Drive the implementation of Maintenance Best Practices
•Optimize Predictive Maintenance technologies (Condition Monitoring and inspections) to minimize unplanned downtime
•Utilize Planned Downtime for Scheduled and Condition-Based Maintenance
•Initiate and coordinate the implementation of new processes/technologies with local, market, PTC, CTU and SBU engineering.
•Safeguard ‘Product Mastership’ equipment related technical knowledge.
•Maintain and develop functional expertise in technical operations (Maintenance, Projects, Industrial Services, Store) by providing training and development programs
•Initiate and drive Continuous Improvement to achieve industrial process and plant optimization.
•Execute and control Factory Routine, Extra-ordinary Maintenance and Capital Investment Budgets
•Manage resources continuously to align with factory objectives and business strategies, include outsourcing opportunities.
•Protect Nestlé’s proprietary technology by adopting a “careful” relationship with 3rd parties, particularly outsourcing partners.
